The childhood epilepsy has been associated with developmental delay and behavioral issues in the individual.
Case History:
A 2 year old boy was presented to Vaidyaratnam Dr. Raghavan Ramankutty in the year 2014 with complain of seizure and developmental delays. The frequency of seizures was 4 to 5 times per week. The child had delay in locomotor development (difficulty in rolling, crawling). He had been on trails of different anti- epileptic medications for long time.
At 2 years of age, his EEG recorded paroxysmal bursts of frontally dominant high amplitude generalized spike and slow wave discharges– signature of Epilepsy.
Dathathreya Ayurveda therapy
The treatment started after examination by Dr. Raghavan Ramankutty. The patient was treated on outpatient basis. He was prescribed oral herbal powder and liquid medicines.
Results and Conclusion
Patient is still taking the treatment at home. His seizures have stopped completely. The EEG monitoring at the age of 4 yrs of age did not reveal any epileptiform abnormalities. He has started smiling, talking and walking. His parents are very happy and satisfied with the treatment given by Dr. Raghavan.
