Case history
An 87 year female, of old Indian origin, with history of Bronchial Asthma for past 50 years.
Patient was presented to Vaidyaratnam Dr. Raghavan Ramankutty with classical symptoms of shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing in the year 1972.
She had history of having acute episodes of asthma at least twice a month, for which patient was prescribed Intravenous injections of bronchodilators and corticosteroids (Nebulizers were not there in 70’s). Patient had visited many physicians for her asthma before starting Dr. Raghavan’s therapy.
Dr. Raghavan’s therapy
Patient was prescribed a kashayam (liquid herbal decoction) for resolution of asthma symptoms. She has been taking herbal decoction for last 50 years on a daily basis.
Family member explains that there has been a satisfactory relief after therapy. She has been better and symptom free for 50 years. There was not even a single episode of bronchospasm in these years and her asthma has been well controlled by Dr. Raghavan’s therapy.
